Good luck to Natalie and her cast as they make final preparations for the Bloom Theatre Festival where Grassroots will be performed. This production is a collaboration of work by the third year Bachelor of Creative Industries Performance and Design students at Charles Sturt University, directed by and starring the Performance students and Stage Managed and Designed by the Performance Design students. Took the year 10, 11 and 12's to see this brilliant show. So great to be back in the theatre, albeit looking like this... All the same, was an incredible show and so great to see the Verbatim process being used in box office musicals!
Folly has been selected to be performed at Armidale's Festival of Short Plays "Favourite Shorts." The format of the show is of moved rehearsed readings.
Performances 29/30 March and the second programme 5/6 April at The Armidale School memorial hall. "The evening will feature a theatre production in Radio Play style, taking you back in the old days before TV. Back in the 1930’s and 1940’s it was very popular for families to sit around the wireless to listen to dramatised acoustic shows. See and hear a Radio Play come to life, with dialogue, music and sound effects helping you to imagine the characters and story." . Congratulations to Julie Mcburnie who played Jane in Allegro Theatre Company's production of Keeping Mum who was awarded Most Deserving Actor/Actress Award for her stand out performance. regional.sheppnews.com.au/2017/06/22/95579/cmcu-supports-local-theatre#
Not a play but a short story. 'The One That Stays', won the Macintyre Writers 2017 Competition, Open section. Thanks for the title, Nick!www.goondiwindiargus.com.au/story/5113765/carolyn-is-a-woman-of-many-talents/?cs=1451
Muffled giggles to hysterical outbursts followed by appreciative applause - that was the scene at the Yarrawonga Town Hall last weekend as Allegro Theatre Company brought its show Keeping Mum to local audiences.
With every line delivered either at the mother’s group sessions, in the birth unit of the hospital or just in their daily surroundings, writer Carolyn Stuart has captured exactly what mums, husbands, kids and friends experience on a daily basis with brilliant humour. Allow yourself this three hours of ‘me’ time and bring along some friends. - Fiona Blick, Yarrawonga Chronicle |
